I believe in dog training that is safe, effective and fun. You will love the results and your dog will love the process.  

I enjoy seeing the bond grow between families and their dogs, as they learn to communicate. When the dog learn what is wanted and expected of him, they want to behave. Then the real fun starts, a well-behaved dog is a pleasure to live with.

I do not use pain and intimidation to train dogs. Instead I use highly effective, science based, humane, easy and fun techniques to get your dog to want to listen to you. My clients have had great success using these methods. 

Sadly, the field of dog training is completely unregulated, Anyone can call themselves a dog trainer without any formal training or education. The methods they use can be at best ineffective and at worse abusive.

I have invested in my education as a canine professional and have gone through several rigorous certification processes to enhance and validate my expertise. I maintain membership in several professional organizations and maintain a code of ethics.                                                                                           

Among my certifications is the CDBC Certified Dog Behavior Consulant from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC.org) in obtaining this certification I demonstrated the ability to use science based humane methods to assist clients and their dogs with behavior problems such as Fear, Phobias, Aggression, Separation Anxiety and other serious issues. I also am able to prevent many of these issues from developing in puppies and newly adopted dogs.

I also hold the CPDT-KA designation from the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers CCPDT.org. The leading certifying organization for the dog training profession. In order to continue to maintain my certification and stay at the forefront of the dog training profession, I regularly pursue Continuing Education and attend dog training seminars, workshops and conferences.

Other qualifications include Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed CPDT-KA, Dognostic Career Center- Dog Behavior Consultant DN-DBC, Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer CSAT, Therapy Dog Trainer, evaluator for Therapy Dogs International, American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and Certified Trick Dog Instructor.

Positive Canine Training offers private in-home training, behavior modification and classroom instruction for puppies and adult dogs. I treat dogs and their families with respect and kindness, while helping them achieve their training goals.

As a certified professional dog trainer & animal lover, my most important role is to provide you and your pet with effective, professional positive reinforcement-based training. Teaching you and your dog how to live within the rules and structure of your family life makes your life easier, and gives you a canine companion who is relaxed, happy and well-trained.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. Their unconditional love, kindness and patience would lead me to my dream career as a dog trainer Working with shelter & rescue dogs over the last 12 years have taught me how to understand their body language and effectively get results with a variety of training and behavioral issues. 

Several years ago, I started a successful dog walking and pet care service. My clients were always amazed at how much better their dogs walked on a leash and their much their behavior was improved while working together, even without formal training sessions. After many inquiries of “would you help train our dog”, This led me to take it to the next level by enrolling in the CATCH Canine Training Academy. I graduated as a CATCH Certified Trainer with distinction (CCDT). certification program. I am a CATCH Canine Trainers Academy graduate with distinction (CCDT). I am additionally Pet First Aid & CPR Certified, A certified Professional Dog Trainer -Knowledge Assessed by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers and a certified CGC evaluator for the American Kennel Club.

I love working with and connecting with animals and their people to create successful relationships. I work with a wide variety of breeds, sizes and ages. My philosophy is to listen to you, work with your needs and together we will find solutions that improve the lives of both the dog and the people they live with. I work privately in-home and teach group training classes. Whether you have a puppy or an older dog, we will work together as a team to teach lessons that will last a lifetime. This will ensure that you and your dog can live together happily and communicate effectively. I truly cherish every tail wag and woof!
